There is a dying lost art from many traditional cultures that effectively used steam inhalation, vaginal steams, and herbal bath soaks to absorb therapeutic herbal remedies. Lets bring back that lost knowledge, and incorporate aromatherapy to absorb medicinal herbs through the largest organ of your body -your skin- and the lungs, which have the largest surface area of your body for absorbing delicate herbal vapors. Topical absorption through the skin by soaking in medicinal teas, or inhalation to absorb through the lungs, also means herbs that may be too bitter tasting to drink can still be therapeutically absorbed and systemically distributed throughout the body. The herbal medicine can be absorbed transdermally through topical teas (herbal baths) or in a more concentrated medicinal form of oils.
Our herbal oils are administered onto the skin to be absorbed into the body to attain systemic (throughout the body) distribution. Our oils are not essential oils (steam distilled), but instead are medicinal herbs that have fat soluble medicinal constituents, meaning the healing and therapeutic components are easily extracted into oils. The skin is the largest organ of the body and much can be absorbed topically, particularly fat soluble extracts. To illustrate, think of topical medications (nitroglycerin, hormone replacement, patches), magnesium, facial serums, creams, gels, lotions, or ointments. Our medicinal herbs have been hand picked, and extracted deeply into high quality, nourishing oils. Use them as medicine - massage them into yourself or loved ones as treatment that includes therapeutic touch and love to heal and nourish. Essential oils are often too harsh to use on delicate or sensitive skin; medicinal herbs extracted into oils for massage are gentler on the skin and safe for sensitive or delicate skin. Transdermally absorb a medicinal daily full-body topical dose of potent herbs deeply extracted into nourishing oils with our body scrubs, with a dose of magnesium (a leading global deficiency) in our bath salts, or while relaxing in the bath with our topical herbal teas.
Medicinal topical tea - Topical tea, or herbal bath soaks, for deeply calming the body and mind. Healing medicinal herbs easily absorb topically for areas (sympathetic nervous system, adrenals, muscles, mind) of need with systemic distribution throughout the body. Ideal method to absorb herbs too bitter to drink in tea. 1 cup of herb makes 1 quart of body tea, the strained herbs are perfect for poultices. Poultices are herbs mashed and applied topically directly onto the skin, optionally with heat (hot water bottle or heating pad). The herbs can be left in place hours or overnight after being wrapped in a bandage (fresh herbs) or cling wrap (wet herbs after infusing or steaming briefly), great for stronger application of the herbs to absorb medicinal constituents. Stronger than fomentations (herbal infusions) because the actual plant is applied topically. Organic muslin bag included. Like a sleepy hug in a tub.
to use: fill cotton bag with 1 cup herbs to a bathtub of water. Tie the bag shut, hang from faucet to infuse medicinal essences into water flowing through the herbs, or infuse bag directly into bathwater. Alternatively, boil 1 quart of water, add 1 cup herbs. Turn off heat, cover tightly. Steep 20 minutes or more. Strain and pour the herbal infusion directly into bath water. Then enjoy your parasympathetic nervous system relaxation response, and sleep well.
medicinal bath salts - strong medicinal loose sleep herb blend with magnesium salts which improve mood, sleep, restless legs, cramps, pain, heals skin issues, and is most easily and rapidly absorbed transdermally. Utilize your parasympathetic nervous system relaxation response (which studies conclusively find releases toxins and stress) in your self care ritual and enjoy soaking in nervine and sedating medicinal herbs that help you fall and stay asleep, with no sleepy morning mind. Great way to absorb herbs too bitter to drink in tea. Like a sleepy hug in a tub. Organic muslin bag included.

Absorb highly concentrated medicinal herbs infused in oils that may otherwise taste too bitter for tea. Studies have confirmed touch reduces anxiety, depression, insomnia, cortisol levels, while releasing oxytocin (the hormone of love). So enjoy your daily sleepy hug in a scrub.
